After the first examination of the car, it was evident that there was need for improvement to bring it to the level of my personal demands. However some flaws popped up over time and some assured virtues turned to be untrue. This was mainly the case for the automatic AC, which was completely non-functional at the time of acquisition. The following jobs had to be executed in order to bring the vehicle to the required level. - Overhaul of the front disk brakes - Repair of the blower for heating/AC (seized bearings) - Attach of a handle for the trunk-lid. The handle is a standard item if the lid does not carry a spoiler-lip - Backrest of the driver-seat aligned - Replaced the frame of the rear left window because of deep scratches - Air duct below instrument panel right replaced because the plastic was extremely brittle and cracked in many places. The correct colour "Siena" was no more available. Therefore, the new part had to be re-painted accordingly. - Clove compartment replaced - Window of the driver's door replaced because of deep scratches - Centre front armrest aligned and adjusted - Speedometer calibrated (indicated 20% above actual) - Headlight washer repaired. The linkage was seized and the wipers were missing. Carriers for the wiper arms had to be manufactured - Overhaul of the rear disk brakes. New disks fitted - Overhaul rear suspension with drive shafts (Pictures) - Rear shock absorbers replaced - Modified the cylinder of the trunk-lock to make it compatible with the main key - Repair of radio (cassette drive did not work) - Missing fog lamps fitted - Partition panels for left and right front fenders installed (Standard for R107 from 1985 onwards) - Overhaul front suspension (Pictures) - Front shock absorbers replaced - Sun visors lined anew - Speaker rear left repaired - Clamping band for battery cover repaired - Fully automatic AC repaired (Vacuum system sealed, amplifier and temperature switch for icing protection replaced, ambient temperature sensor and temperature switch for auxiliary fan replaced, pressure switch for cryogen replaced, flaps for central air outlet attached to lever) - Windscreen replaced because of deep scratches - Upper ornamental frame of windscreen replaced (scratches) - Rear window replaced because of defective heating - Upper ornamental frame of rear window replaced - Panelling around windows and headliner re-painted - Flaps for defrost ducts repaired - Cruise control installed - Day driving light installed - Switch for parking brake alarm repaired - Centre console panel with AC controls properly fixed - Front-seat backrest locking device repaired - AC compressor replaced, AC-system modified for R134a refrigerant - Switch for breaking lights replaced - Regulating valve for automatic AC replaced - Balancing weight for the aluminium trunk lid installed to compensate for the missing spoiler lip (standard lid is steel when ordered without spoiler) - DAB+ radio adapter added to the existing contemporary Becker radio - Gearset in odometer replaced | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
